Meet Dr. Mark Lansdell

Dr.-Mark

Thank you for dropping by Gordon Street Dental’s website; I sincerely welcome you! Please read a little bit about me, and if you have any dental questions, my team welcomes your call. And of course, we’d be honoured to welcome you as our patient!

Education

I received my Bachelor of Science (Honours Genetics Program) from the University of Western Ontario 1991 and my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1995 (also from UWO). I’ve had training in emergency pain management, oral sedation (pill medication), and Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation. My team and I provide 24-hour compassionate emergency dentist care in Guelph.

Philosophy

I’ve overseen more than 61,000 smiling faces at great recare visits over my career and my goal has always been to provide the best possible experience for my patients. Your needs, your concerns, and your goals are front and centre with my valued team members, all of whom I’m very proud to be working with. I’m one of the luckiest Guelph dentists out there! We’re an intimate team with a mission to ensure your comfort, to support you during your visits, and to provide treatment of the highest standard. We will clearly explain services we provide to assist you in achieving your best oral health and a beautiful winning smile.

My favourite part of being a dentist in Guelph is helping and caring for my patients. I truly believe that the positive feedback we get from our patients is the reason for our enthusiasm and our success at Gordon Street Dental. I also love interacting and learning the unique life experiences of the people I meet. I am intrigued by what “makes us tick” and love human biology and health care – three factors that originally guided me to dentistry.

For those who experience anxiety and fear associated with dentistry, I try my hardest every day to help you overcome it as regular continual dental care is such a critically important part of good overall health. How do I do this? By promising laughter, kindness, and compassionate care. If you’re one of these people looking for a new dentist in Guelph, I hope you’ll give my team and me a try. We won’t let you down!

Life outside of Gordon Street Dental

I have two main interests, and I’ve already talked a bit about dentistry, so here’s a bit about family life.
Firstly and most importantly, my daughter means the world to me! She’s in high school and thrives in drama and media arts and is a musical theatre enthusiast. She’s part of the reason I decided to move to Guelph (I grew up in Etobicoke which is now a part of Toronto). I wanted us to live in a community with great people and beautiful surroundings – urban and rural – and in a community whose focus was on health and conservation.

Our dog is Rambo. He is the biggest little dog working in canine security today, weighing in at a grand 4lb 4oz. He’s by our side whenever we can make it happen, especially when I’m outdoors at home, getting my hands in the soil – I really enjoy landscaping.

What else? I love hiking, running, script writing, and being an armchair scout coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Pop culture fascinates me – I’m a fountain of both useless trivia and useful info and tidbits.
